Insurance Claim Steps
At Alfa Bodyworks, we understand the stresses that can be involved in claiming from your insurance. We’re here to work with you to get your vehicle repaired. Our state-of-the-art workshop is approved by all major insurers. If you’ve been involved in automobile accident and want us to repair your vehicle, simply follow these steps:
Step 1
Make sure to report the accident to the nearest police station where the accident occurred to obtain your accident report number. Your insurer will request this when you log a claim.
Step 2
Upon logging your claim, notify your insurer that you would like to exercise your “Right to Repair” and that you would like Alfa Bodyworks to carry out the job.
Step 3
Book your vehicle with us for us to assess the damage. Once you have received the quote, you will need to submit to your insurer to be paid out. We can assess with this as well.
Step 4
Upon approval of your claim, we’ll work with you to book your vehicle in for repair. The rest is on us.
What is right to repair?
As part of the Competitions Act, Act 89 of 1998, an amendment was passed in July 2021 that allows individuals the right to choose the repairer they would like to use. Quite simply, the insurer cannot dictate who needs to repair your vehicle. While Alfa Bodyworks is approved by most insurers, some insurers may request you to book the vehicle at their preferred workshop. Unfortunately, many of these workshops do not provide the same attention to detail as we do at Alfa Bodyworks. If you are faced with any issues regarding right to repair, simply contact Alfa Bodyworks and we’ll advise you on the correct steps to take.
